Hi! I’m Cristiana! I am the owner and maker of Soft Serenity Candle Company! I hand pour each candle in small batches and test to ensure a quality burn and longevity. These candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and high quality nontoxic oils. There are no dyes added and completely paraffin and phthalate free!
My love for candles really led me to start this businesses. I am always burning candles in my home but most candles on the market are not safe for your household. My main mission was to find a candle that was not poisoning everyone in my home. Paraffin candles are full of carcinogens when they are burned. Carcinogens actually are a leading cause of cancer. Natural soy candles burn longer, are cleaner, have no toxic and harmful ingredients, are environmentally friendly, produce no black soot and are less likely to trigger allergies.

I would say my biggest challenge in the beginning of starting my business was not knowing my products worth. I had people in the beginning scoff at $20 for a candle, but as a small business owner I began to realize that I am not a big box store. My products are handmade, hand labeled, packaged by me and each with a written note. Not every candle is perfect. There will be flaws- tops not smooth, air bubbles, a scratch on a lid, but that doesn’t mean they are defective. It took me a couple months to really grasp that concept and not get knocked down by negative comments.
The growth I have seen in this business is unbelievable. Never did I think I would be where I am today. I started this business as a side hustle to gift and sell to friends and family. I have grown in so many ways. I have amazing customers, friends and family that have supported my business venture I’m so many ways. They have all pushed me to keep going, encouraged me, supported my business, and shared my business with others. Within less than 2 years, I am almost to the point where I can quit my full time job and pursue my dream!

I absolutely love talking to my customers! I love hearing their feedback. I always ask for honest and brutal opinions on new scents and products. I also love to offer discounts and sales to my loyal customers so they can return again to purchase another candle for their home or workspace. It truly makes me so happy to see them happy using the products I made by hand.

Simplicity is best. I strive to make each and every candle the best it can be. Like I said before, these candles are clean burning with 100% soy wax, cotton wicks, and high quality oils. There are no dyes added, non-toxic, paraffin-free, and vegan. Each candle is handmade in small batches + tested to guarantee burn quality and longevity.
My biggest influences are all my other friends and family that are also small business owners. They always cheered me on to start this business and continued to encourage me! I could have never done it without their constant support.

My biggest piece of advice is to be consistent. Be consistent on social media. Social media is a huge and great marketing tool. It’s mind blowing how many people can see your products and businesses. Also, be true to yourself. Never try to act like someone you’re not. Make your face your brand of your business. People remember faces more than just seeing pictures or videos continuously of your products. Connect with your customers!

I can’t wait for the future of Serenity Candle Company! I can’t wait to keep growing and eventually be in my own store front or warehouse. I couldn’t do any of this without my wonderful support system and loyal customers!
