PackYak Receiving Guidelines

Welcome to PackYak's comprehensive Receiving Guidelines, designed to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations for your eCommerce brand at our fulfillment centers. Here you will find guidelines on how inventory should be sent into or facilities, with information on barcoding, SKU labelling, and product packaging. By following these guidelines, you can help us maintain efficiency and accuracy in our operations, ultimately leading to a better experience for both you and your customers!

Product and SKU Labelling

  • Each item must have an exterior barcode or label that includes a scannable barcode and the corresponding visually readable SKU that is easily accessible.
  • Products must not have duplicate barcodes.
  • All barcode values must be at least 5 digits.
  • All barcode values on products should match the barcode values in Shiphero.
  • Barcode values cannot contain special characters - only numbers and standard letters.
  • If products arrive and are not individually labelled with barcodes, PackYak will barcode items at a rate of $.35 per item and the time to barcode will be subject to special project fee pricing.
  • Supported Barcode Types:

    Bookland EAN, Codabar, Code 39, Code 39 ASCII (Extended), Code 39 Trioptic, Code 93, Code 128, Discrete 2 of 5, EAN 8, EAN 13, EAN 128, EAN 128 + Composite, EAN-UCC 128, GS1 128, GS1 DataBar-14, GS1 DataBar, GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked, GS1 DataBar Extended, GS1 DataBar Limited, Interleaved 2 of 5, ISBT 128, Korean 3 of 5, Matrix 2 of 5, MSI, Plessey, RSS Expanded Stacked, RSS-14, Telepen, UPC A, UPC E (0), UPC E1.
  • If products arrive and are not individually bagged, PackYak may bag product which will be subject to special project fees and clear polybag charges which will vary depending on size of product.
  • You cannot mix SKUs in a carton if they are not organized into separate polybags.
  • If your manufacturer is packing mixed SKUs into the same carton, different SKU’s must be clearly separated into polybags or smaller interior boxes. Each polybag or small box in a mixed carton must be labelled with the appropriate SKU.
  • All pallets must include pallet tags and indicate if the pallet contains mixed SKUs.
  • All master cartons must have the following information:

    1.) Merchant Account ID and/or scannable barcode on the exterior of the carton. This ID number will be included in purchase orders created in ShipHero.

    2.) SKU must be clearly labeled on the exterior of the carton.

    3.) Number of units in cartons must be clearly labeled on carton exterior.

Receiving

  • We reserve the right to refuse inventory that is in violation of our receiving guidelines.
  • Inventory that does not follow our guidelines will be subject to longer wait times. This may take up to an additional two (2) weeks depending on how disorganized the inventory arrives.

  • All freight deliveries must be scheduled with info@packyak.com at this link: https://calendly.com/packyak/inbound-shipment.

  • PackYak only accepts deliveries during the receiving hours of the destination warehouse's time zone, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-4PM.
  • Customers must create a purchase order in ShipHero and attach the purchase order to the exterior of the lead carton or pallet on incoming shipments.
  • All international shipments must be sent to PackYak as Delivered Duty Paid (“DDP”) or they will be refused. PackYak shall not act as the Importer of Record for the Company under any circumstances.
  • Please contact info@packyak.com to arrange for receiving of “removals” from other 3PLs.
  • If you do not have a PackYak approved Receiving Schedule we reserve the right to not receive any inventory. Merchant agrees that PackYak will not incur any liability or costs for rejecting delivery and not receiving inventory.
  • If barcoding is required upon receiving products, three business days will be added to our typical receiving timeiine and will incure a cost of $0.35 per unit.
  • Peak Season (11/1/2021 – 1/15/2022)
  • Receiving times must be pre-approved at info@packyak.com during peak season.
